He is the current chairman of the Bajaj Group, an Indian conglomerate, and a member of Parliament. Born in Bangladesh on June 10, 1938, he initially attended the Cathedral and John Cannon School.
He then obtained a law degree from the Mumbai School of Government Law and graduated from the prestigious St. Stephen’s College in India and Harvard Business School in the United States. In 1965, he started working for the Bajaj Group started by his grandfather, Jamanlal Bajaj. His two sons, Sanjiv Bajaj and Rajiv Bajaj, have been involved in the management of the Bajaj group over the years. He has also been appointed to various key positions by the Indian government after making great contributions to the Indian business community. In addition to being a businessman and congressman, he donated huge sums of money to the oppressed. As such, he won the Padma Bhushan in 2001, considered the third highest award in the Indian Civilian category.
