Pusha T is an American rapper and former member of the hip-hop duo Clipse. His records include Daytona (2018), Darkest Before Dawn (2015) and My Name is My Name (2013). He is currently the President of GOOD Music. Pusha T was born Terrence Thornton on May 13, 1977 in the Bronx, New York. He grew up in Norfolk, Virginia, to his parents and older brother Gene Thornton aka “No Malice.”

Pusha T and his brother formed the hip-hop group “Clipse” in 1992. They signed to Elektra Records in 1997 with the help of record producer Pharrel Williams. Their unreleased debut album, Exclusive Audio Footage, was shelved after the single “The Funeral” failed to make a splash. Clipse signed with Arista Records in 2001, and their commercial debut, Lord Willin’, was released in August 2002. The album reached No. 4 on the Billboard 200 and won a Gold Award from the RIAA. Pusha T and his brother founded the record label Re-Up Records in 2004. They then released the albums Hell Hath No Fury (2006) and Til the Casket Drops (2009).

A solo artist, Pusha T signed to Kanye West’s Good Music label in 2010. His debut EP, Fear of God II: Let Us Pray, was released in November 2011 with the lead single “Trouble on My Mind”. Pusha T released the mixtape Wrath of Caine in January 2013. His debut studio album, My Name Is My Name, was released later that October. Collaborative singles from the album include “Pain” with Future, “Sweet Serenade” with Chris Brown, “Let Me Love You” with Kelly Rowland, and “Nosetalgia” with Kendrick Lamar.

Pusha T was appointed President of GOOD Music in November 2015. His second album, Darkest Before Dawn, was released the following month. It reached number three on the R&B/Hip-Hop Albums Chart and featured the singles “Untouchable”, “MFTR” and “Crutches, Crosses, Caskets”. Jay Z’s single “Drug Dealers Anonymous” was released in May 2016. The song was produced by DJ Dahi. Pusha T’s third album, Daytona, was released in May 2018 on Good Muic and Def Jam. It was produced by Kanye West, Andrew Dawson and Mike Dean.
