In 1982, Radziwill received a degree in broadcast journalism from Boston University. From there, he got off to a strong start in television at NBC Sports, where he worked as an associate producer. During the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul, South Korea, he contributed to the broadcasts of the Games, which later won an Emmy for excellence in television broadcasting. In 1990, Larzewell presented a report on the rise of Nazism in the United States, which earned him the prestigious Peabody Award. Shortly thereafter, in 1994, Radziwill married Carole Di Falco, and five years later he finally succumbed to a battle with the cancer that had plagued him since the late 1980s, but was in marked remission years after his initial diagnosis. Since his death in 1999, his mother Lee and widow Carroll set up a fund in 2000 to support struggling documentary filmmakers. In 2005, Carroll wrote an autobiography revolving around her late husband’s battle with cancer. The book, What’s Left: A Memoir of Fate, Friendship, and Love, received widespread and universal acclaim.
