Prabhas is an Indian film actor best known for his work in Tollywood. He played “Amarendra Baahubali” in Baahubali: The Beginning (2015) and the sequel Baahubali 2: Conclusion (2017). His film credits include Varsham (2004), Darling (2010) and Mirchi (2013). Prabhas was born Venkata Satyanarayana Prabhas Raju Uppalapati on October 23, 1979 in Chennai, India. His father, U. Suryanarayana Raju, is a film producer and his mother is Siva Kumari. He has two older siblings, Pramod Uppalapati and Pragathi. He is also the nephew of actor Krishnam Raju Uppalapati. Prabhas attended DNR School in Bhimavaram followed by Sri Chaitanya College in Hyderabad. He graduated with a Bachelor of Technology.

Prabhas made his debut in the Telugu film Eeshwar (2002). It is directed by Jayanth C. Paranjee. He starred in “Raghavendra” in the Tollywood film Raghavendra (2003). Other early films include Adavi Ramudu (2004) and Chakram (2005). Prabhas worked with Shriya Saran in the action drama Chhatrapati (2005). His character is a refugee exploited by a mob. The film is directed by SSRajamouli and produced by BVSN Prasad.

Prabhas took on the dual roles of “Shivudu/Mahendra Baahubali” and “Amarendra Baahubali” in the epic historical film Baahubali: The Beginning (2015). Two years later, his role resurfaced in the sequel Baahubali 2: Conclusion (2017). Both films are among the highest-grossing Indian films of all time. Prabhas’ other films include Munna (2007) with Ileana D’Cruz and Bujjigadu (2008) with Trisha. He won the Best Actor in a Movie Award for his role in the romantic comedy “Dear” (2010). His upcoming projects include Saaho, an action thriller directed by Sujeeth.
