Portia Lee James DeGeneres, whose professional name is Portia de Rossi, was born on January 31, 1973 in Horsham, Victoria, Australia, Amanda Lee Rogers (Amanda Lee Rogers). Her mother Margaret (Margaret) is a medical receptionist. Her father, Barry Rogers, unfortunately passed away when she was nine years old. De Rossi grew up in Grovedale, Victoria, and as a child often modeled for various print and TV commercials. When she was fifteen, she adopted the professional name Portia De Rossi, inspired by Portia in William Shakespeare’s “The Merchant of Venice”.
