Pitbull (Mr. Universal) is an American rapper, singer/songwriter, record producer and businessman. He has released 10 studio albums, including MIAMI (2004), Planet Pit (2011) and Global Warming (2012). His outstanding singles include “I Know You Want Me (Calle Ocho)”, “Give Me Everything” and “Wood”. Pitbull was born in Miami, Florida on January 15, 1981, his original name is Armando Christian Perez. His parents Alysha Acosta and Armando Perez separated when he was a child. He attended South Miami High School and Miami Coral Park High School.

Growing up, Pitbull read and remembered the works of the Cuban poet Jose Marti. He also cited the Toxic Clan, Celia Cruz, and Luther Campbell as early influences.
