Earl Sweatshirt is an American rapper and songwriter. Earl Sweatshirt has a net worth of US$4 million. In 2010, his debut mixtape “Earl” received recognition for the first time, and subsequently released the albums “Doris”, “I Don’t Like Shit, I Don’t Go Outside” and “Some Rap Songs”. Sweatshirt is also a member of the alternative hip-hop group Odd Future, which was formed in 2007 by Tyler, the Creator and other rappers.
Early life and career start
Earl Sweatshirt, whose real name is Thebe Neruda Kgositsile, was born in Chicago, Illinois in 1994. His mother is Cheryl Harris, a well-known UCLA law school professor, and his father is Koolapetz, a political activist and poet from South Africa. He has an older brother named Randy. When Kgositsile was eight years old, his parents separated. When he was young, he attended New Roads High School and Middle School in Santa Monica, California. After graduation, he studied at UCLA Laboratory School.
Kgositsile began to rap under the name Sly Tendencies in his seventh grade and released the tracks from his mixtape on MySpace. He and friends nicknamed JW Mijo and Loofy formed a rap trio called Backpackerz.
“Earl” and Samoa Hiatus
In 2009, creator Tyler, also a rapper, discovered Kgositsile on MySpace and invited him to join his rap group Odd Future. The following year, Kgositsile released his first mixed tape called “Earl”, which can be downloaded for free in digital version on the Odd Future website. Most of the mixing tapes are made by the creator Taylor.
Soon after the release of “Earl”, Kgositsile’s mother sent him to Samoa due to his drug habits and troublesome behavior with friends. In this island country, he attended Coral Reef College, a reformed boarding school for high-risk boys. There, he read Manning Marable’s biography of Malcolm X and wrote some rhymes while trying to get back to the United States. Kgositsile was finally brought back to the United States by his manager Leila Steinberg in 2012.

After returning to the United States, Kgositsile appeared in the song “Oldie” on Odd Future’s first album “The OF Tape Vol. 2”. Subsequently, he signed to establish his own record label Tan Cressida, which will be released through Columbia Records. Kgositsile continues to collaborate with many artists. He appeared in the track “Super Rich Kids” on Frank Ocean’s first album, and appeared in the first official single “Elimination Chamber” of Domo Genesis & The Alchemist. In addition, he also appeared in the song “Between Friends” by Flying Lotus and the song “P2” by MellowHype.

Further musical success
Kgositsile released several new albums in 2015 until his second album; these include “45”, “Quest/Power” and “silenceDArapgame”, the latter being recorded by professional skateboarder Nakel Smith. In March 2015, Kgositsile released the album “I Don’t Like Shit, I Don’t Go Outside”, which debuted at number 12 on the Billboard 200. This album invited Vince Staples, Na-Kel, Dash, and Wiki, and included songs such as “Grief”, “Off Top” and “Wool”. After the release of this version, Kgositsile released a ten-minute song called “Solace” on YouTube; in 24 hours, it received more than 100,000 views.
In early 2016, Kgositsile released the songs “Wind in My Sails”, “Bary” and “Skrt Skrt” on SoundCloud. Soon after, he appeared on Samiyam’s fourth album “Animals Have Feelings”. That summer, Kgositsile released an instrumental piece called “Pelicula” and a new piece called “Death Whistles”, which appeared in the live program of the Red Bull Academy of Music. In 2018, Kgositsile made fun of his third studio album by releasing the singles “Nowhere2go” and “The Mint”. Then he released the album “Some Rap Songs”, which was widely acclaimed. personal life
Kgositsile lives in the Midtown neighborhood of Los Angeles, California. After temporarily accepting atheism, he switched back to Nichiren Buddhism, which was the belief he grew up with during his childhood.
Prior to this, Kgositsile had been dating model Mallory Llewellyn for some time. According to reports, he later met the model Kinda Salty, who ended the relationship on suspicion of infidelity. In July 2021, Kgositsile revealed on Twitter that he has a son.
