He has also played in Pride FC, Strikeforce, Cage Rage, Dream, EliteXC, ONE FC, PFC and Titan FC. Baroni is well known for his boxing prowess, although he is also an excellent wrestler. In his early years, Baroni was expelled from Massapequa High School for attacking the school’s janitor a week before the state wrestling championship. Baroni attended Nassau Community College, where he was a two-time All-American wrestler, finishing fifth and second in the nation. Baroni then attended Hofstra University and then transferred to Central Michigan University, where he earned a double major in biology and psychology and a degree in psychology. Between the ages of 17 and 20, he was also an amateur bodybuilder, competing in six competitions where he finished first or second. He learned taekwondo from Keith Trimble and competed in seven fights, all by knockout. He also fought in 10 amateur boxing bouts and won all 10 bouts by knockout. Baroni made his UFC debut in only his second professional fight at UFC 30 in Atlantic City, New Jersey. He competed with another high profile pundit, Curtis Stout, and Baroni won by unanimous decision. He is undefeated 3-0 in his second fight at UFC 34 with Matt Lindland, who Baroni will compete with later in his career.
