Born Peter Lim Eng Hock, “Peter Lim” was ranked eighth among the 40 richest people in Singapore by Forbes Magazine in July 2010. Just a few months ago, he was ranked 655th among the world’s billionaires with an estimated net worth of $1.5 billion.
Nicknamed “Remisier King”, he started out as a stockbroker primarily serving clients in Indonesia. In 1996, he invested $10 million in palm oil producer Wilmar International as a full-time investor; it is now worth about $700 million. He is also the second largest investor in Singapore-based fashion distributor FJ Benjamin. His other interests include logistics and agribusiness.
