Jacobson is known as one of the most colorful personalities in golf. He was previously a member of the PGA Tour and is now a member of the Champions Tour. He has won seven titles on the PGA Tour, including the Buick Goodwinch Open, Colonial Nation Invitational, Sammy Davis Jr.-Greater Hartford Open, Bob Hope Chrysler Classic, AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am, California Buick Invitational and Greater Hartford Open. Jacobson won the 2004 U.S. Senior Open and the 2005 Ford Senior Players Championship as part of the Champions Tour. His best finish at the Masters was 11th in 1981, and his best at the U.S. Open was 7th in 1984. He also finished 11th at the 1985 British Open and 3rd at the 1983 and 1986 PGA Championships.
