Peter Crudas Net Worth: Peter Crudas is a British businessman and banker with a net worth of $1.3 billion. Peter Cruddas built his fortune as the founder of London-based online financial retailer CMC Markets, where he also serves as CEO. He was born on September 30, 1953 in Hackney, London.
Crudas was 15 when he left Shoreditch College without any qualifications. Still, the following year he managed to get a job as a telegraph operator for Western Union in London. After gaining enough experience, he completed Western Union and transferred to the foreign exchange department of several financial institutions including Marine Midland and Bank of Iran. In 1989, he quit his career as a foreign exchange trader to start his own company, today CMC Markets, investing around £10,000. Now worth more than £1.2 billion, the company is a hugely successful foreign exchange business. A strong supporter of the Conservative Party, he became the party’s co-treasurer in 2012. But he resigned from the Common Treasure after The Sunday Times reported that Prime Minister David Cameron and Chancellor George Osborne had received an offer from Crudas for a cash donation of around £250,000. In 2013, he filed a defamation lawsuit against The Sunday Times. Cruddas asked for defamation and the court awarded him a defamation case of around £180,000. He was a great philanthropist, he established the “Peter Crudas Foundation” to help children from poor families to advance in society. Several prominent personalities have chaired his foundation, including Grafham’s Baron Young and David Young.
