Pauly Perrett is an American actress, singer and activist. She played forensic scientist “Abby Sciuto” on the CBS series NCIS. Her credits include The Time of Your Life, Murder One, The Lord of the Rings (2002), and Elite vs. Elite (2012). Perrett was born on March 27, 1969 in New Orleans, Louisiana. She grew up in the South because of the nature of her father’s work. Her mother Donna died of breast cancer. Perrette is a graduate of Crestwood High School in Sandy Springs, Georgia. She attended Valdosta State University and subsequently John Jay College of Criminal Justice in New York. She studied sociology, psychology and criminology.

Before television, Perrett hoped to be a police officer or a federal agent. Before being discovered, she worked as a bartender in New York City. Her early gigs included commercials, short films, music videos and voiceovers. Perrett’s first notable role was “Gwen” in the legal drama series Murder One (1996-97). She then made cameo appearances in Frasier, Early Edition, The Naked Truth and The Drew Carey Show. She played “Lisa” in the short-lived sitcom “This Is Life” (1998). Perrett co-starred with Jennifer Love Hewitt in “Cecilia Wiznakci” in The Time of Your Life (1999-2000). She has guest appearances in Dawson’s Creek, Special Unit 2, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation and Series 24.
Perrette is probably best known for her role as the forensic scientist “Abby Sciuto” on the police procedural series NCIS. The show premiered on CBS on September 23, 2003, and is currently in its 15th season. She was nominated for two People’s Choice Awards in 2014, including one for Favorite Crime TV Actress. Abby Sciuto’s role is repeated in NCIS: Los Angeles and NCIS: New Orleans. Perrette announced in October 2017 that she would be leaving NCIS after Season 15. Her film credits include Almost Famous (2000) with Billy Crudup and The Lord of the Rings (2002) with Naomi Watts. She dubbed the animated films Brother Bear (2003) and Elite vs. Elite (2012).
In addition to acting, Perret is a singer, author and entrepreneur. She started out as a singer in the all-girl punk band Lo-Ball. She contributed songs such as “Fear” and “Somebody Saved You” to the NCIS soundtrack. She has also appeared in music videos for Madonna, George Michael and Metallica. Perrette is the founder of independent record label Go Records. She co-owns the restaurant “Donna Bell’s Bake Shop” in Manhattan, New York. Her book, Donna Bell’s Bakery: Recipes and Stories for Family, Friends, and Food, was published in April 2015.
