White, also a baseball outfielder, was selected by the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim in the fourth round of the 2004 Major League Baseball draft, followed by the Cincinnati Reds in 2008 and the New York Yankees in 2009, although he Never participated in any of them except in Teaching League. He was also selected by the Anaheim Angels in the fourth round of the 2004 Major League Baseball draft and offered a six-figure signing bonus but turned it down in order to attend West Virginia University. White was selected by the Miami Dolphins with the 44th overall pick in the 2009 NFL draft and signed a four-year deal worth about $4.5 million. During a game against the Pittsburgh Steelers on January 3, 2010, Pat White collided with Ike Taylor’s helmet, causing him to lose consciousness. He was carried off the field, but was discharged the next day. After White was waived by the Dolphins (2010), he signed a minor league contract with the Kansas City Royals on September 10, 2010. On January 25, 2011, White signed a minor league contract with the Miami Marlins. White went on to become a member of the Edmonton Eskimo (Canadian football club), where he still plays.
