Paige VanZant is an American mixed martial artist, dancer and former model. She is 5-foot-4 and competes in the UFC women’s strawweight bout. She has a range of 65 inches. Van Zant was born Paige Slatten on March 26, 1994, in Dundee, Oregon. Her parents, Rachel and Steve, used to own a dance studio in Oregon. She has an older brother named Steven Slayton. VanZant took ballet, jazz and hip-hop dance lessons as a child. The family later moved to Reno, Nevada, where she attended Truckee Meadows Community College.

VanZant won her first amateur championship at the age of 18. She made her professional MMA debut in June 2012 in a win over Jordan Nicole Gaza. Three months later, she defeated Amber Stautzenberger by unanimous decision. VanZant was beaten by Tecia Torres for the first time in January 2013 at Invicta FC 4.
