A goalkeeper, he started his senior career with Atlas from 1993 to 1996, making 81 appearances. Sanchez played 76 games for Club America from 1996 to 1999.
He joined Guadalajara in 1999 and before 2007 he made 272 appearances. In Guadalajara, Sanchez won the Mexican Serie A in 2006. He joined Santos Laguna in 2007 and won the Mexican Clausula Serie A in 2008 and 2012. Osvaldo also represented Mexico in international competitions.
