A goalkeeper, he started his senior career with Atlas from 1993 to 1996, making 81 appearances. Sanchez played 76 games for Club America from 1996 to 1999.
He joined Guadalajara in 1999 and before 2007 he made 272 appearances. In Guadalajara, Sanchez won the Mexican Serie A in 2006. He joined Santos Laguna in 2007 and won the Mexican Clausula Serie A in 2008 and 2012. Osvaldo also represented Mexico in international competitions. He played for their under-20 team and then for the senior team from 1996 to 2011, making 99 appearances. In Mexico, Sanchez won the America’s Cup in 1996 and the CONCACAF Gold Cup in 1996 and 2003. He holds the record for the most appearances in the Mexican Serie A footballer with over 700 appearances.
