Omarosa Manigault is an American reality TV star and former White House political aide. From January 2017 to January 2018, she served as the communications director of the Public Liaison Office. Her TV works include “The Apprentice”, “Surreal Life” and “The Ultimate Merger.” Omarosa was born on February 5, 1974 in Youngstown, Ohio, formerly known as Omarosa Onee Manigault. Her parents were Theresa Marie Walker and Jack Thomas Manigault Sr. (died in murder). She has two older siblings, Gladys Louise Manigault (died 2016) and Jack Thomas Manigault Jr. (died 2011). Omarosa attended The Rayen School and then Central State University. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in broadcasting journalism in 1996.She completed postgraduate studies at Howard University in Washington, D.C.

In 2004, Omarosa made her television show debut on the NBC reality show “The Apprentice”. The show was hosted by real estate mogul Donald Trump. Among the 16 contestants, she won the 8th place. Omarosa has been a member of the Democratic Party until 2015. Her political career can be traced back to the Clinton administration in the 1990s. During her tenure, she worked as a dispatch correspondent in the office of then Vice President Al Gore. She was transferred to the White House Personnel Office and later to the Department of Commerce. From 2000 to 2004, she worked as a political consultant in Washington, DC. She became the managing partner of Access America Enterprise Corporation in 2008. Omarosa was a candidate for the seat of District 1 on the Board of Education of the Los Angeles Unified School District in 2014. She lost the special primaries.
Omarosa changed her partisanship to the Republican Party in 2015. She was appointed as the African-American outreach director for Donald Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign. She was sworn in as the communications director of the Office of Public Liaison on January 20, 2017. White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders announced the resignation of Omarosa on December 13, 2017. The resignation will take effect on January 20, 2018. According to CNN White House reporter April Ryan, Omarosa was fired by White House Chief of Staff John F. Kelly.
