Omari Hardwick is an American television and film actor. He is best known for the TV series “Power,” “Becoming Mary Jane,” “Saved,” and “Deep Blue.” His film credits include For Colored Girls (2010), Kick-Ass (2010) and The A-Team (2010). Hardwick was born on January 9, 1974 in Savannah, Georgia. His parents were Clifford and Joyce Hardwick. He has three siblings, Jamil, Malik and Shani. Hardwick attended Marist School in Atlanta, Georgia, where he played a variety of sports. He continued his education at the University of Georgia on a football scholarship. He minored in drama and was a member of the Alpha Phi Alpha fraternity. After college, Hardwick moved to San Diego to try out with the San Diego Chargers. His knee injury ended his football career.

Hardwick began writing poetry as a teenager. He studied off-Broadway in New York City before moving to Los Angeles in 2000. While in Los Angeles, he worked various jobs to pay for acting lessons. He entered the top 5 of the 2003 and 2004 National Poetry Grand Slams. Hardwick made his television debut in the 2005 NBC series “Through Jordan.” The following year, he played John “Sack” Haron in the medical drama “Saved.” The show ran for 13 episodes on TNT. Hardwick appeared in Spike Lee’s TV movie Sucker Free City (2004). He played the small role of “Carl Billings” in The Guardian (2006) starring Kevin Costner and Ashton Kutcher.
Hardwick played “Ty Curtis” in the Deep Blue series (2009-10). He was nominated for the Best Performance Award. His next big role was as “Andre” on the BET series Becoming Mary Jane (2013-14). For the role, he won the Black Scroll Award for Outstanding Actor in the Series. Hardwick currently plays James “Ghost” St Patrick in the crime drama Thrones. The show premiered on Starz in June 2014. Hardwick appeared in the action comedy Next Day Air (2009) alongside Donald Faison and Mike Epps. He played “Carl” in Tyler Perry’s “Girls of Color” (2010). His film credits also include Kick-Ass (2010) with Aaron Taylor-Johnson, The A-Team (2010) with Liam Neeson and I Will Follow (2011) with Salli Richardson. Hardwick is the founder of Bravelife Films. He is also the co-founder of the “Plan B Inc. Theatre Group” and “The Showroom” in Los Angeles.
