Born in Omaha, Nebraska in 1977, Ahman Green played college football for the University of Nebraska Cornhusk near home. Green, a highly touted high school senior, was selected with the 76th overall pick in the third round of the 1998 NFL draft.
He played for the Seattle Seahawks from 1998 to 1999 before being traded to the Green Bay Packers. Green played in Wisconsin from 2000 to 2006, then joined the Houston Texans from 2007 to 2008, the Packers for a second time in 2009, the Omaha Nighthawks in 2010 and the Montreal Skylarks in 2011. Green, who played in four Pro Bowls during his NFL career, was a member of the Packers in 2001, 2002, 2003 and 2004. He won the NFC Offensive Player of the Year honor in 2003, the same season he led the league’s charge. Green retired as the leading rusher in Packers history.
