A third-generation member of the family-owned beverage company Suntory Ltd., Saji is the CEO of Japan’s fourth-largest beer and food maker. Saji is a graduate of Keio University and holds an MBA from the UCLA Anderson School of Management.
The grandson of Suntory founder Shinjiro Torii, he assumed the role of president of the family-owned Suntory Brewing, Distilling and Beverage Group in 2001. Since he took control of the company, George has focused Suntory on overseas acquisitions. The largest of these include the 2009 acquisitions of France’s Orangina Schweppes Group and New Zealand’s Frucor Beverages Group.
