His F1 career spanned 15 seasons, and his last two full seasons of top-level racing were spent in the CART series. Nigel is one of the most successful British Formula One drivers of all time, with 31 wins and sixth place on the list of Formula One race winners. He held the record for most strokes in a quarter until it was broken by Sebastian Vettel in 2011. He was named in the top 10 Formula One drivers of all time by longtime Formula One commentator Murray Walker and in 2008, and the Entertainment and Sports Network ranked him 24th among their all-time best drivers. To date, he is the most recent person to be inducted into the International Motorsport Hall of Fame from outside the United States – he was inducted in 2005. Throughout his career, he has been competing with Brazilian racing driver Ayrton Senna, who is an exceptional driver in his own right. He is the current chairman of UK Youth, one of the UK’s largest youth charities, and chairman of the Advanced Motorists Association. He currently lives in Jersey, Channel Islands, with his wife Roseanne and their German shepherd, Geisha, purchased in 2009 as a personal protection dog. He has two sons, Leo and Greg, who are also racing drivers, and a daughter, Chloe, a designer. Mansell is an avid golfer who has a golf course in his backyard and briefly played in the 1988 Australian Open.
