early life
Nicole Avery Cox was born on June 2, 1978 in Los Angeles, California. Her family originated in Memphis, Tennessee. Throughout her career, Nicole’s mother served as her personal manager. Nicole’s entertainment career started at a very young age. By the time she was four years old, she had appeared as a dancer in several ballets and TV specials. Her first real acting role was at the age of 10. During this time, she’s been featured in “Baywatch,” “Star Trek: The Next Generation,” “Mom’s Family,” “The Grotesque,” “Indiana,” and “Blossom.”
Profession
During her teenage years, Cox began recurring roles on shows like “General Hospital” and “California Dreams.” The long string of TV roles finally gave her her first big break, as she was booked for the primetime role of Tiffany Malloy on the sitcom “Happy Ever After.” She appeared on the show for five seasons from 1995 to 1999. Eventually, the show was canceled and Nicole went on to play a former prostitute in another sitcom called “The Norm Show.” The show ran for three seasons, but once again Nicky quickly found a new role in “Nicky.” She starred in the new sitcom, though it only lasted two seasons before it was canceled in 2002.

By 2003, Cox had landed another recurring role, playing Mary Cornell on the NBC drama “Las Vegas.” She left the series before its fifth and final season in 2007, although her character later appeared in the “Passion” crossover episode. During this time, she became the face of a gaming website. After Las Vegas ended, she was booked for a voice role in the video game Suit Larry: Box Office Bust. Ironically, the video game proved to be a box office bust, receiving overwhelmingly negative reviews. That year, Cox starred in a film called Lonely Street. Years later, Nikki was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Comedy Album for being the sole author of Jay Mohr’s album “Happy. And A Lot”.

On December 29, 2006, Cox married comedian/actor Jay Moore in Los Angeles. In December 2008, Moore petitioned a Los Angeles court to allow him to legally add her last name to his name, changing his name to Jay Ferguson Cox Moore. Cox and Cox-More had a son on May 5, 2011. They divorced in 2018.
real estate
In 2018, Cox and her then-husband Jay Moore reportedly sold a home in Woodland Hills, California, for $1.025 million. They managed to sell the property for $75,000 more than the asking price, a deal likely sparked by their then-in-progress divorce. Neither party had to move out, as the residence had been used as rental income for over a decade before it was sold. The couple had been renting the home for about $3,500 a month until it sold. Nikki originally bought the house in trust in 1997, paying $390,000. This means that even if she splits the house at 50-50 moles due to her divorce, she can still make a six-figure profit from her original purchase.
The home itself features two bedrooms, 15,000 square feet of living space, bamboo wood floors and butcher countertops. Other highlights include two fireplaces and a brick patio. Outside there are front and back yards with mature trees.
