Niall Horan is an Irish-born musician and a member of the boy band One Direction. He was born on September 13, 1993 in Mullinga, Westmeath. His parents Maura and Bobby separated when he was very young. He has an older brother named Greg. Holland attended St. Kenney’s National School, followed by St. Mary’s College in Mullinga. He sang in the school choir and performed in many school plays. His musical influences include Michael Bublé, Frank Sinatra and Jon Bon Jovi.

Horan made its debut in The X Factor’s 7th series in 2010. He was 16 years old at the time. He played Ne-Yo’s 2005 single “So Sick” in the training camp and won a place. Although Horan failed to make progress as a solo singer, he was given the opportunity to perform in the group. The other members are Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson. The band known as One Direction won third place in the competition. They later signed with Simon Cowell’s record company Syco.

Horan and the group released their first album Up All Night in November 2011. The album was number one on the Billboard 200 and number two on the British album charts. It was supported by the singles “What Makes You Beautiful”, “Gotta Be You” and “One Thing”. The band’s second album, Take Me Home, was released by Sony Music Entertainment a year later. This is a commercial success, reaching the top of the rankings in more than 30 different countries. Other studio albums by One Direction include Midnight Memories (2013), Four (2014) and Made in the AM (2015). They appeared in two concert movies and this is where we are (2013) and where we are (2014). Horan signed with Capitol Records in 2016, hoping to start a personal career. In September 2016, he released his first solo single “This Town”.
