Nasser Khalili Net Worth: Nasser Khalili is an Iranian-British scholar and collector with a net worth of $1 billion. Born on December 18, 1945, in Isfahan, Iran, Nasser David Khalili moved to the United States in 1967 after completing his studies and national service in his home country.
While in the US, he continued his education for a year and settled in the UK in 1978. Nasser Khalili, who still lives in London, holds British citizenship and is regarded by leaders of Muslim countries as “the cultural ambassador of Islam”. Also known as the Secret Sultan, he has one of the largest private collections of Islamic art in the world. He started as a collector in the 1980s and now owns over 20,000 works, the oldest of which spans 1,400 years. Khalili’s rare art collection includes Koran manuscripts, paintings, ceramics, glass and textiles. In addition to Islamic objects, he also collected Japanese art from the Meiji period, textiles from India and Sweden, and metalwork from Spain. All of his collections are held by the Khalili Family Trust. In addition to art, Khalili owns commercial and retail properties in and around London, including Tony Mayfair. He was reportedly behind the construction of an energy-efficient office building called “The Wave.” A philanthropist, Nasser Khalili co-founded and chaired the Maimonides Foundation, a charity that promotes interreligious peace and understanding.
