Nadhmi Auchi Net Worth: Nadhmi Auchi is a British-Iraqi businessman who has a net worth of $2.3 billion. Nadhmi Auchi, born June 11, 1937 in Baghdad, Iraq, is the founding chairman of the Anglo Arab Organization (AAO) and the founder and chairman of Mediterranean Holdings (GMH), a group of 120 companies worldwide.
Auchi graduated from Al-Mustansiriya University in Baghdad in 1967 with degrees in Economics and Political Science. He founded GMH in 1979 in Luxembourg. Since its inception in 2002, Auchi has served as President of AAO, a private non-profit organisation promoting the integration and retention of British Arabs into mainstream British society. He was awarded the Order of the Republic in 1996 and the Grand Order of Independence in 2002. Among other awards, he was awarded the City of London Freedom Prize in 2013. Unfortunately, his career was not without a black mark. In 2003, Auchi was convicted of fraud in connection with a $504 million corruption scandal centered on French oil company Elf Aquitaine. The scandal has been described as “the biggest political and corporate scandal to hit a Western democracy since World War II”. Auchi was fined nearly $3 million and given a suspended sentence.
