Born in Detroit, Michigan in 1976, Maurice Taylor spent his college career close to home, playing for the University of Michigan Wolverines from 1994 to 1997. The Los Angeles Clippers selected Taylor with the 14th overall pick in the first round of the 1997 NBA draft.
He played with the Clippers until 2000, when he joined the Houston Rockets. Taylor played for the New York Knicks (2005-2006), the Sacramento Kings (2006-2007), the Italian Milan Olympia (2009), the Chinese Shanxi Zhongyu (2009-2010), the Italian Benetton Treviso (2010), and finally It is Enel Brindisi of Italy (2011).
