Born on February 24, 1968 in St. Paul, Minnesota, Hedberg is well-regarded for his unconventional approach to comedy and otherworldly humor. Hedberg started practicing stand-up comedy in Florida in 1989, then moved to Seattle and started performing on the road.
In his early years, he appeared on MTV’s Comikaze, David Letterman’s Late Show and The ’70s. In 1997, he won the grand prize at the Seattle Comedy Competition. Hedberg recorded three comedy CDs and produced a standalone feature film called Los Enchiladas! Year 1999. He has several followers of comedians such as George Carlin, Dave Chappell, Lewis Black, Mike Birbilia and Doug Stanhope. He was married to Lynn Shawcroft from 1999 until March 29, 2005, when he tragically passed away at the age of 37 in a hotel room in Livingston, New Jersey. Hedberg had a known heart defect originating in childhood, but traces of cocaine and heroin were found in his system at the time of his death and claimed to be the cause.
