Miriam Colón Net Worth: Miriam Colón is a Puerto Rican actress who has a net worth of $5 million. Míriam Colón Valle (commonly known as Miriam Colón) was born on August 20, 1936 in Ponce, Puerto Rico. She is the founder and director of the Puerto Rico Travel Theater in New York City.
As a young girl in the 40’s whose recently divorced mother moved the family to a public housing project in Barrio Obrero, San Juan, Miriam attended Román Baldorioty de Castro High School and was active in school drama. Her first drama teacher, Marcos Colon (no relation), believed in Miriam’s talent and, with his help, was given permission to observe students in the drama department at the University of Puerto Rico. She was a good student in high school and received a scholarship to attend the Drama Studio and Technical Institute and the Lee Strasbourg Performance Studio in New York City. In 1953, Miriam Colón made her debut as an actress in the Puerto Rico-produced film Peloteros (Baseball Player) starring Ramón (Diplo) Rivero in which she played Lolita. In New York City, she was accepted to Actors Studio co-founder Elia Kazan after an audition, becoming the studio’s first Puerto Rican member. In New York, Cologne worked in theater and later had a role in the American daytime soap “Guiding Light.” Between 1954 and 1974, Cologne made guest appearances on television shows such as Peter Gunn and Alfred Hitchcock Presents. On TV, she has mostly appeared in westerns such as Gunsmoke, Bonanza, The High Chaparral and Have Gun, Will Travel. Cologne also appeared as “The Redhead” in the 1961 film One Eyed Jack. She went on to appear in several other television productions, including the richest man in Bogota starring Lee Marvin and the film Gloria (1999) starring Sharon Stone.
