Miles Garrett is an American professional football player for the Cleveland Browns. He’s 6-foot-5 and plays the defensive end. Garrett was born to Audrey and Lawrence parents on December 29, 1995 in Arlington, Texas. His sister Brea is a track athlete and his brother Sean Williams is a basketball player. Garrett attended Martin High School, followed by Texas A&M University. He studied at the School of Architecture. He also minored in business administration and geology.

Garrett began his football career at Martin High School under coach Bob Wager. He’s also competitive in basketball and track and field. He recorded 81 tackles and 19.5 quarterback sacks in football his senior year. Garrett’s high school honors include Parade All-American, Texas Class 5A Defensive Player of the Year and MaxPreps All-American. In October 2013, he committed to play for the Texas A&M Aggies.

Garrett played three seasons of college football with the Texas A&M Aggies. A true freshman in 2014, he led the team with 11.5 sacks, 14 steals and nine QB steals. In 2014, he was named to the SEC Second Team. Garrett received SEC First Team and All-American First Team honors in 2015 and 2016. He was a finalist for the 2015 Rotary Lombardi Award and the Ted Hendricks Award. He declared for the 2017 NFL Draft in December 2017.

Garrett was selected by the Cleveland Browns with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft.
