Milan Hejduk was born in 1976 in Ustina-Drabem, Czechoslovakia and played overseas for HC Pardubice. In 1994, he was drafted 87th overall by the Quebec Nordics, who became the Colorado Avalanche after relocation.
Hejduk played every game of his professional NHL career with the Avs. He was part of the 1998-99 All-Rookie Team and appeared in three NHL All-Star Games: 1999, 2000 and 2008. Hejudk was a member of the Avs’ Stanley Cup winning team on ice in the 200-01 season. During the 2002-03 season, he won the Morris “Rocket” Richard Trophy, the Bud Light Plus-Minus Award, and was a member of the second All-Star team. At the time of his retirement, Hayduk held the record for most professional races as a member of the Avalanche. He completed his NHL career, playing in more than 1,000 regular-season games, scoring 375 goals, 430 assists, 805 points and 316 minutes of Simbin. Hejudk represented the Czech Republic in international competitions, winning gold at Nagano 1998 and bronze at Turin 2006. He and his wife Zlatuse have two sons: twins David and Marek.
