What is Mike Shanahan’s net worth and salary?
Mike Shanahan is a retired American football coach and former football player with a net worth of US$40 million. During his career, Shanahan has won 170 career victories and is one of the NFL coaches with the most wins in NFL history. At the time of writing, he is the 13th coach with the most wins in NFL history.
early life
Mike Shanahan was born on August 24, 1952 in Oak Park, Illinois. He played college football in eastern Illinois, but when Shanahan and a friend were involved in a high-speed motorcycle accident that killed his friend, his career took a near fatal turn. The following year, in his junior year, during spring football training, Shanahan’s body was pierced and his kidney was divided into two halves. For a few terrible hours, it seemed that Shanahan might not survive the injury. A priest was called to recite the final ceremony for him, and his heart stopped beating for more than 30 seconds. Miraculously, Shanahan recovered completely, but he would never play football again.
Coaching career
Shanahan, who has always been an optimist, thinks this is an opportunity to do something he has always been interested in-coaching. He quickly assumed the role of offensive coordinator for Eastern Illinois and held the same position at the University of Minnesota, and quickly set a record of 40 offenses in the first year. Subsequently, he went to the University of Florida (1980-84).
His next leap was from college to professional football. He joined the Denver Broncos as a wide receiver coach and was promoted to offensive coordinator the following year, eventually leading them to the Super Bowl twice (1986 and 1987). Haven’t won in two years.
After a one-year hiatus, he went to the Washington Redskins. After a dramatic 3-13 season, Shanahan was fired in December 2013 as the coach of the Washington Redskins. This is the third time he has lost a double-digit game in four years. Shanahan then issued a statement for more than four minutes in the Redskin Park, but did not mention any future plans. He also did not answer reporters’ questions. However, he is expected to recover the entire $7 million owed to him by the Redskins next season. Mike was formally fired by Redskins head coach Dan Snyder in December 2013.

Mike and his wife Peggy have two children, a son named Kyle and a daughter named Chris Tal. Kyle Shanahan is also a football coach. In 2017, Kyle became the head coach of the San Francisco 49ers.

In 2008, Mike and Peggy spent $4 million to purchase an undeveloped piece of land in Cherry Hill Village, a suburb of Denver. They set out to build a 30,000 square foot mansion. According to reports, the construction cost is as high as 20 million U.S. dollars.
