Megyn Kelly is an American journalist and political commentator. From 2013 to 2017, she hosted “The Kelly File” on Fox. From 2017 to 2018, she worked with NBC News. Megyn Marie Kelly was born on November 18, 1970 in Syracuse, New York. Her mother Linda was a housewife and her late father Edward was an educator. She has an older brother named Pete. Kelly spent her childhood in DeWitt and moved to Del Mar when she was 9 years old. She attended Bethlehem Central High School, followed by Syracuse University. She graduated in 1992 with a BA in Political Science. Kelly continued her education at Albany Law School. In 1995, she received her Juris Doctor degree, summa cum laude. She has covered many events, including the 2004 presidential campaign between George W. Bush and John Kerry.
In 2004, Kelly began working as a Washington correspondent for Fox New Channel. In 2006, she moved to New York City to co-host “America’s Newsroom” with Bill Hemmer. Kelly hosted her own news show “America Live” from 2010 to 2013. She started hosting “The Kelly File” in October 2013. The show airs on weekdays from 9:00pm to 10:00pm ET. It was ranked as the second most popular cable news program. The Kelly Archive focuses on the latest stories, investigative reports and interviews with newsmakers. In January 2017, Kelly announced her decision to switch from Fox News to NBC News. Her position at Fox will was replaced by political commentator Tucker Carlson.
Kelly joined NBC News in 2017. The NBC News Magazine show “Sunday Night with Meghan Kelly” premiered in June 2017, followed by her daytime talk show “Megan Kelly Today” in September. Kelly also worked at NBC’s Dateline. In October 2018, NBC canceled “Meghan Kelly Today.” They terminated Kelly’s contract in January 2019.
