Maya DiRado is an American swimmer, Olympic gold medalist and business analyst. She was born on April 5, 1993, in San Francisco, California, to parents Marit and Ruben. She has a younger sister named Sarah. DiRado attended Maria Carrillo High School, followed by Stanford University. She graduated in 2014 with a degree in Management Science and Engineering.

DiRado started swimming with the Santa Rosa Neptunes at the age of 6. She continued her swimming career at Maria Carrillo High School, where she excelled and broke multiple records. She won the California State Championship three times in the 200-yard IM. DiRado had a successful college career with the Stanford Cardinals. She finished third in the 400-yard IM in the 2011 Division 1 NCAA Tournament. DiRado won the 200-yard and 400-yard IM individual championships during her senior year. She was also named the Pac-12 Swimmer of the Year.
After failing to qualify for the 2012 Olympics, Dillardo turned his attention to the 2013 World Championships. She qualified and won the gold medal in the 4x200m freestyle relay in Barcelona. She won gold and silver at the 2014 Gold Coast Pan Pacific Championships in Australia. Dirado made his Summer Olympics debut at the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympics. She won two Olympic gold medals, one silver and one bronze.
