Weinberg was born in Newark, New Jersey in April 1951. He is best known as a member of Bruce Springsteen’s E Street Band and bandleader for Conan O’Brien. He started playing drums at the age of six. In 1974, Max won an audition to become Bruce Springsteen’s drummer. In 1989, Springsteen disbanded the band, and Max reconsidered becoming law. Weinberg joined Conan O’Brien as bandleader and drummer for Late Night in 1993. The band was named Max Weinberg 7. Springsteen regrouped the E Street Band in 1999, and Weinberg set a schedule for continued collaborations with Bruce and Conan. Weinberg joined Conan on The Tonight Show because of the show’s short life. Max formed the Max Weinberg Big Band and toured with them. He decided not to go to TBS with Conan O’Brien. Max Weinberg was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2014 as a member of the E Street Band. He rejoined the E Street Band in 2014 for their High Hopes Tour. Max received the Hero Award from the Big Brothers and Sisters Association of America in 1990.
