Martin Crowe is a New Zealand cricketer and commentator. He’s 6 feet tall and a right-handed hitter. He was born to Dave and Audrey Crow parents on September 22, 1962 in Henderson, New Zealand. His cousin Russell Crowe is an Oscar winner.

Crowe made his debut with the Oakland Aces in 1979. He later played for the Central Bucks, then Somerset, then the Wellington Firebirds. After 16 years in top-notch cricket, Crowe has an impressive 56.02 bats. He finished with 392 first-class runs under 20,000. In 1981, he was named New Zealand’s Young Cricketer of the Year.
Crowe made his ODI and Test debuts against Australia in February 1982. He was named captain of New Zealand in 1990. Crowe has played a total of 77 Test matches and 143 one-day internationals during his career. He was named Wisden Cricketer of the Year in 1985 and a Member of the Order of the British Empire in 1992. After retiring in 1996, Crowe worked as a coach and TV commentator. He was inducted into the ICC Cricket Hall of Fame in 2015.
