Martha Raddatz is an American journalist, news anchor and chief global affairs correspondent for ABC News. She has reported for Nightline, World News Tonight, and has written for The New Republic. She has covered US foreign policy for approximately 20 years. Raddatz was born on February 14, 1953 in Idaho Falls, Idaho. She grew up in Salt Lake City and attended the University of Utah. She dropped out before finishing her degree.

Raddatz started his career as a lead reporter for WCVB-TV in Boston, Massachusetts. From 1993 to 1998, she was a Pentagon correspondent for National Public Radio. While on NPR, she covered topics such as foreign policy and defense. Raddatz began his long-term tenure with ABC News in January 1999. She started out as a State Department correspondent for the network, covering issues such as the conflict in the Middle East. Raddatz was named Senior National Security Correspondent in May 2004. She later served as chief White House correspondent and later as senior foreign affairs correspondent.
Raddatz received the First Amendment Award in 2012 for excellence in journalism. She has won 4 Emmy Awards, an International Urbino Journalism Award and a Fred Friendly First Amendment Award. Raddatz wrote the book, The Long Road Home: A Story of War and Family, which was published in 2007.
Raddatz hosted the 2012 vice presidential debate between Paul Ryan and Joe Biden. She was chosen to host the second 2016 presidential debate between Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton.
