Mark Robert Michael Wahlberg was born on June 5, 1971 in Dorchester, Boston, Massachusetts. He is the youngest of nine children. A troubled youth, he was sentenced to two years in prison at the age of 16 after pleading guilty to felony assault following the violent assault on two Vietnamese men in 1988. He ended up serving only 45 days in prison. He has also been involved in attacks on various groups of African-American children, including shouting racial epithets.
