What is Marcus Rashford’s net worth and salary?
Marcus Rashford is a professional English footballer who plays as a striker for Manchester United and the England national team in the Premier League. At the time of writing, Marcus Rashford has a net worth of $25 million. At Manchester United he won the FA Cup, EFL Cup, FA Community Shield and Europa League. In addition, Rashford represented England at the 2018 FIFA World Cup and the 2016 and 2020 UEFA Cups.
Early life and career
Marcus Rashford was born in Manchester, England in 1997 to a working-class single parent family. He is of Kittitian descent and has four older siblings: brothers Dwaine and Dane and sisters Chantelle and Claire. At the age of five, Rashford started playing football for Fletcher Moss Rovers, initially as a goalkeeper. He then spent a week training at Manchester City before joining the youth system at Manchester United. When he was 11, Rashford became the youngest player to be selected for Manchester United’s Student Scholars programme.
In 2012, Rashford was part of Manchester United’s under-15 squad. In the 2013-14 season, at the age of 16, he trained with the Manchester United first team. Later in the U-18s’ Premier League, he scored six goals in 11 appearances and was awarded the team captaincy.
2015-16 debut
In the 2015-16 season, Rashford was selected for Manchester United’s Europa League round of 32 18-man squad. He made his first-team debut in the second half against Danish club Midtjylland to lead to a 5-1 victory. In the process, Rashford became United’s youngest scorer in European competition. Three days later, he made his Premier League debut against Arsenal and scored twice to help the team win. It wasn’t long before Rashford made more history with his only goal in the Manchester derby; at 18, he became the youngest goalscorer in the Premier League era. Then, in the FA Cup sixth round replay against West Ham, Rashford helped the team advance to the semi-finals. Against Aston Villa three days later, he scored the only goal of the game. Rashford then led the way against Crystal Palace in the FA Cup final to help United win their 12th FA Cup. At the end of the season, he won the Jimmy Murphy Young Player of the Year Award for his achievements.

In the middle of the 2016-17 season, Rashford won his third trophy in the Carabao Cup final, coming off the bench in the 77th minute in the 3-2 win over Southampton. Later in the season, he started in the Europa League final, winning his first European trophy against Dutch side Ajax. The following season, Rashford made his Champions League debut against Basel and scored again on his debut to lead the team to victory. In March 2018, Rashford scored two goals in a 2-1 win over Liverpool in his first Premier League start of the year. However, three days later, United were eliminated from the Champions League.
Rashford’s other big achievement came in January 2019, when he scored his only goal in a win over Tottenham. The goal marked his first in three consecutive league games. The following week, he made his 150th club appearance in a 2-1 win over Brighton, becoming the youngest player in United history to score in four consecutive league games. As a result, Rashford was declared Manchester United’s player of the month and then the Premier League’s player of the month.

In July 2019, Rashford signed a four-year contract extension with Manchester. After snapping Liverpool’s 17-game winning streak, Rashford recorded the best goal of his career to date, scoring 16 club goals in 20 appearances. Then, in the opening game of the 2020-21 Champions League, he scored the winning goal away at Paris Saint-Germain. In the following game, Rashford scored his first hat-trick in United’s 5-0 win over Leipzig. By December, he became the third youngest player in United history to score 50 Premier League goals. In early 2021, Rashford scored the second goal in United’s 9-0 win over Southampton.
International career
Just months after his Manchester United debut, Rashford was named in England’s Euro 2016 squad, becoming the youngest player in the UEFA European Championship. He then became the youngest Englishman to score on his international debut with his opening goal against Australia. Two years later, Rashford represented England at the 2018 FIFA World Cup, scoring the opening goal in the team’s final warm-up match against Costa Rica. He then started England’s final group game against Belgium and came on as a substitute in the penalty shootout against Colombia in the round of 16. Advance to the quarter-finals, England’s best performance since 1990.
In the summer of 2021, Rashford will be part of Euro 2020 as part of a 26-man squad. Coming on as a substitute in the final minutes of extra-time in the Championship final, he made his third penalty error in the penalty shootout, paving the way for Italy’s victory. Following this defeat, Rashford became the recipient of racist abuse on social media.
