Macklemore is an American rapper, singer and songwriter. He was formerly known as Professor McMoore. He is best known for the album The Heist (2012) with Ryan Lewis. His personal records include The Language of My World (2005) and Gemini (2017). Macklemore was born on June 19, 1983 in Seattle, Washington as Benjamin Hammond Haggerty. Redux (2010). The duo’s first studio album The Heist was a commercial success in October 2012. This album has received Platinum Records (RIAA) certification and has sold more than 1.4 million copies in the United States. ‘The Heist’ gave birth to the popular single “Can’t Hold Us” starring Ray Dalton and “Thrift Shop” starring Wanz. Both of these songs topped the Billboard Top 100 Singles chart. The official video of “Thrift Store” has been viewed more than 1.1 billion times on YouTube. The duo’s second album “This Unruly Mess I’ve Made” was released in February 2016. Macklemore and Ryan Lewis have won multiple awards, including 4 Grammy Awards, 2 AMAs, 2 Youth Choice Awards, and 2 Billboard Music Awards.
