Lloyd Price Net Worth: Lloyd Price is an American musician who has a net worth of $2 million. Born in Kenner, Louisiana in 1933, Lloyd Price learned to play the piano and trumpet while growing up, and sang in the local gospel choir. He formed his own band in 1949 and released the single “Lawdy Miss Clawdy”, which topped the US R&B charts.
Five years later, Price was drafted and deployed to South Korea. Returning to the United States, his next single, “Just Cause” in 1957, reached number three on the R&B chart. Since 1959, Price has released more than two dozen albums, including 1959’s Inspirational Lloyd Price, 1960’s Mr. Personality Sings the Blues, 1981’s This Is Me “The Band”, “Miss Claudius” in 1995 and “Christmas Classic” in 2002″. Price returned to music with considerable success, with his song “Stagger Lee” selling over one hundred 10,000. At one point, Dick Clark refused to let Price perform on “America’s Bandstand” unless he modified some violent lyrics in his music. Price opened a Manhattan nightclub in the 1970s and later dabbled in Real estate, developed townhouses in the Bronx. In 2011, he published his autobiography, The Real King of the Fifties: The Story of Lloyd Price. Price was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1998.
