She also starred in the films “The Puppets Take Manhattan,” “The Lord of the Rings,” and “The Backup Plan.” In 1987, LaVine won a Tony Award for Best Actress in a Play for “Broadway.” She also won two Drama Desk Awards, an Obie and two Golden Globes. She was inducted into the American Theater Hall of Fame in 2011.
