Lil Yachty is an American rapper, singer and songwriter. He is also a member of the sailing team. Yachty was born in Atlanta, Georgia, on August 23, 1997, under the original name Miles Parks McCollum. He attended Pebblebrook High School in Mableton. He studied briefly at Alabama State University, but dropped out to pursue music.

Yachty is influenced by artists such as Lil B, iLoveMakonnen, Soulja Boy, and Coldplay. His first mixed tape Lil Boat was released by Quality Control Music in March 2016. The album ranked 113th in the Billboard 200 and included the singles “One Night”, “Minnesota” and “Hollywood”. The single “Minnesota” was also played on Drake’s OVO Sound Radio. The mixing tape Lil Boat witnessed the collaboration of artists such as Young Thug, Quavo and Burberry Perry. Yachty appeared in the DRAM 2016 single “Broccoli”. He also appeared in the single “Mixtape” on the Chance the Rapper album Coloring Book.

Yachty signed a joint venture agreement with Quality Control Music, Capitol Records and Motown Records in June 2016. His second mixtape “Summer Songs 2” was released the following month. He is working on a third mixtape called “Pretty Boy Millionaires 2”. In addition to music, Yachty has also left his mark in the fashion industry. In 2016, he modeled for Kanye West at the Yeezy Season 3 fashion show.
