Lil Dicky is an American rapper, songwriter and comedian. He is known for songs like “Save Dat Money”, “Ex-Boyfriend” and “Lemme FreaK”. His recordings include the albums Professional Rapper (2015) and mixtape So Hard (2013). Lil Dicky was born David Andrew Burd on March 15, 1988 in Cheltenham, Pennsylvania. He was raised by Jewish parents near Elkins Park. Dickey attended Cheltenham High School, followed by the University of Richmond. He graduated summa cum laude from the Richmond Robbins School of Business in 2010. Then he moved to San Francisco, California. While in San Francisco, Dicky worked for the advertising agency Goodby, Silverstein & Partners. He wrote several ad copy for them, including one for the NBA’s “BIG” campaign.

Lil Dicky’s debut mixtape So Hard was released independently in May 2013. The 17-track tape was produced by Kanye West, Calvin Harris, Key Wane and more. Selected songs from his debut included “Ex Boyfriend”, “Bar”, “Jewish Flow”, “White Dude” and “Grimy As a Gooch”. The official music video for “Ex Boyfriend” was released on YouTube on April 25, 2013. It went viral and has been viewed over 30 million times. Lil Dicky continues his success with a weekly series of songs/videos called “Hump Days”. He launched a Kickstarter campaign in November 2013, which helped him raise $113,000. His first live concert took place in February 2014 at the Living Arts Theater in Philadelphia.

Lil Dicky’s debut studio album Professional Rapper was released in July 2015 by Commission Records and Alternative Distribution Alliance. It features guest artists such as Snoop Dogg, T-Pain and Brendon Urie. The album peaked at number 7 on the Billboard 200 and number 2 on the R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart. It topped the rap, comedy and independent album charts. The album was led by the singles “Lemme Freak”, “White Crime” and “Save Dat Money” by Fetty Wap and Rich Homie Quan. The music video for “Save Dat Money” has more than 75 million views on YouTube. Lil Dicky joins Lil Uzi Vert, Anderson Paak, 21 Savage, Dave East and 5 others in the freshman class of 2016 XXL. Dicky reportedly paid $700,000 for special effects for the video for the single “Pillow Talking.” A video featuring “Brain” was posted on April 12, 2017.
