Lewis won the most beautiful baby in a Liverpool match at the age of two. As a musician, he played in his father’s band and as drummer for The Renegades. He became a hairdresser and turned down auditions for The Beatles. He went on to play for The Eyes, The Georgians and The Mojos, and was a truck driver. He trained at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts in Hammersmith and worked in theatre. He first appeared in the 1974 TV series Z Cars, Marked Professional, Village Hall, Crown Court and Warship as well as the TV movie They Gone When You Lie Down. From 1975 to 1977, Collins played Gavin Rumsey on the television series The Cuckoo Waltz. He is best known for his role as Bodie on The Professionals series from 1977 to 1983. He went on to star in the series Cluedo from 1991 to 1992. Collins starred in the films “Confessions of a Driving Instructor”, “Must Wear Tights”, “Who Dare to Win”, Code Names: Wild Goose, Kommando Leopard and Der Commander. Lewis married Michelle Larret in 1992, and the couple had three sons together. Lewis Collins died of cancer in November 2013 at the age of 67.
