Leviev made his fortune through investments in the real estate, chemical and diamond industries and is now the Chairman of the Board and the controlling shareholder of Africa Israel Investments Ltd.

As such, he is the President of the Federation of Russian Jewish Communities and has made major charitable donations to Hasidic Jewish causes in Eastern Europe and Israel.
