Leslie Edwin Miles was born in Elyria, Ohio in 1953, Leslie Edwin Miles played for the University of Michigan Wolverines in 1974 and 1975 on the offensive line. Myers got his first taste of coaching as a graduate assistant at the University of Michigan from 1980 to 1981.
Later, he coached the offensive line in Colorado from 1982 to 1986 before returning to Michigan for the same role. He left Ann Arbor in 1995 to work as offensive coordinator at Oklahoma State until 1997, when the Dallas Cowboys hired him to coach their tight end. In 2001, Myers was hired as head coach by Oklahoma State University. Four years later, he became LSU’s head coach, a position he has held since. Myers went 130-49 as head coach midway through the 2014 season and went 7-5 in bowl games. Miles won the only national championship of his career so far in 2007. He won two SEC championships and three SEC Western Conference championships. In 2011, he received Coach of the Year honors from various media including The Associated Press and The Home Depot. Miles and his wife have four children.
