Len Goodman is a British TV and radio presenter. He is a professional ballroom dancer and judge, best known for his performances on ABC’s Dancing With the Stars. Leonard Gordon Goodman was born on April 25, 1944 in Bromley, Kent. His parents are Louisa and Leonard. Goodman grew up in Blackfern and attended Westwood Modern High School. He is an avid cricket and football fan.

Before dancing, Goodman had a brief apprenticeship as a welder at the heavy industry firm Harland and Wolff. He started dancing at the age of nineteen, shortly after an injury playing football. Goodman quickly turned pro, dominating many tournaments on his path. He also runs a ballroom dancing school in Dartford, Kent.
In 2004, Goodman was appointed as the chief judge of the British reality show Dance Up. The show premiered on BBC One and is now in its 14th season. Other longtime judges on the set include Bruno Tonioli and Craig Revell Horwood. Goodman made her Dancing with the Stars debut in 2005. He will retire after the show’s 23rd season in December 2016. Other TV contributions include Clink’s Secret (2014) and Vacation of My Life (2014-16). Goodman received the Carl Allen Award for his many contributions to the art of dance. He was nominated for an Emmy in 2006 and 2007 for Outstanding Reality/Competition Program.
