Larry McReynolds was born in Birmingham, Alabama in January 1959. He is a minority shareholder of Bang!! Racing and also serves as a consultant to Petty Enterprises. McReynolds began his NASCAR career in 1975 and worked his way up to crew chief in 1985.
From 1985 to 2000, he was the Winston Cup team leader, winning 23 cups. McReynolds won his first Cup at Watkins Glen International in 1998 with driver Ricky Rudd. From 1991 to 1993, he won 11 races with driver Davey Allison, including the 1992 Daytona 500. From 1993 to 1996, he won seven victories with Ernie Irvan and helped Dale Earnhardt win the 1998 Daytona 500. From 1991 to 1995 he was selected for the Copenhagen/Skoal All-Pro team. Larry McReynolds joined Fox Sports in 2000 as a broadcaster and has also worked for other networks such as TNT and Speed.
