Larry Drake is an American actor best known for his role in Los Angeles Law. He was born on February 21, 1950 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. His father “Raymond” was a drafting engineer and his mother “Lorraine” was a housewife. Larry attended the University of Oklahoma before his acting career. He originally wanted to be a teacher. Larry moved to Southern California in 1980 to work at the Old Globe Theater in San Diego.

Larry made his screen debut in the 1971 crime drama This Stuff’ll Kill Ya. His TV debut was in a 1983 American Theater episode titled “The Skin of Our Teeth.” Larry landed his breakthrough role in 1987 when he starred in the TV series Los Angeles Law. His character “Benny Stulwicz” is a developmentally disabled person. He held the role from 1987 to 1994 and won two consecutive Emmys for Best Supporting Actor. He modified the role of “Benny” in the 2002 TV movie “LA Law: The Movie.” Other notable films include Dr. Giggles (1992), Darkman (1990), Dark Night of the Scarecrow (1981), Bean (1997), Gryphon (2007), and the TV series Prey and Johnny Bravo.
