Larry David is an American comedian, writer, actor, director and TV producer. At the time of writing, Larry David’s net worth is $400 million. He is well-known for creating comedy shows “The Story of Seinfeld” and “Suppressing Enthusiasm”. Through these two shows, Larry has been producing a successful comedy show since 1989.
Because of his ownership stake in the back-end joint royalties generated by “Sein Fei Zheng Chuan”, Larry acquired most of the net assets. By the time the show was sold as a joint venture, Larry and co-creator Jerry Seinfeld each owned 15% of the backstage equity in the show. This point will be described in detail later in this article.
early life
Larry was born in Brooklyn on July 2, 1947 to Rose and Mortimer “Monty” David. He has an older brother named Ken. His family is Jewish. Larry attended Sheepshead Bay High School and then the University of Maryland. While in college, he was a member of the Tau Epsilon Phi Brotherhood. In college, he realized that he could make people laugh. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in history. After graduating from college, David joined the U.S. Army Reserve and did various odd jobs, including shop assistants and limousine drivers, while also practicing standing at night. From 1980 to 1982, he was a writer and actor on the ABC sketch show “Friday”. From 1984 to 1985, he was the screenwriter of “Saturday Night Live”. As we all know, he only broadcasted one of his sketches during “SNL”. The show was broadcast at 12:50 in the morning, which was the last time slot of the show. He has collaborated with the future “Seinfeld” star Michael Richards on “Friday”, and Julia Louis Dreyfus has collaborated on “SNL”.
The Creation of Song Fei Zheng Chuan
In 1989, Larry collaborated with Jerry Seinfeld to produce a pilot episode for NBC, which was originally called “Sein Fei Biography”. The name was eventually shortened to “Song Fei’s True Story”. Larry is the co-creator and executive producer of The Story of Seinfeld. The show was broadcast from 1989 to 1998, with a total of 180 episodes. David gained further recognition for the HBO series “Suppress Your Enthusiasm”, where he created and starred in a semi-fictional version of himself. On Wednesday, June 2, 2010, the show premiered on “TVGuide.com” and became the first online TV show. The 10th season of the show will premiere in 2020.

As you might think, Larry earned most of his net worth by virtue of his connection with the highly successful Seinfeld. From the beginning of the show, Larry and Jerry each own 7.5% of the back-end equity of the show. At the peak of the show’s success in the mid-1990s, the two reached an agreement with NBC to increase their points to 15%. Larry and Jerry bought an equity owner who wanted to cash out, and this part also gave a boost. The show was first co-hosted in 1998. The first transaction generated US$1.7 billion in revenue and brought Larry and Jerry a windfall of US$250 million each. On March 31, 1993, David married Laurie Lennard (Laurie Lennard). They have two daughters, Cazzie Laurel (born May 10, 1994) and Romy March (born March 2, 1996). Laurie David filed for divorce on July 13, 2007, citing irreconcilable differences and seeking joint custody of the couple’s two daughters.
In the summer of 2017, PBS’s “Search for Roots” found that David and Bernie Sanders were distant relatives through genealogy research. The comedian explained that Sanders is “the third cousin or something”. Considering that since 2015, David has guest-starred as Bernie Sanders in “Saturday Night Live”, which is really a coincidence.
David is an atheist, and he said religion should be ridiculed.

Unfortunately, after divorcing his ex-wife Laurie in 2007, Larry’s net worth suffered a considerable blow. According to reports, Larry paid 50% of Laurie’s net worth at the time.
