Born Larry Christopher Allen, Jr., on November 27, 1971 in Los Angeles, California, he played 14 seasons as a football guard in the National Football League (NFL). With talent but no grades, Allen couldn’t play Division I, so he attended Butte College in Oroville, California.

During the two years he was there, he was named to the All-League and All-State teams in both seasons. Next, he spent a year without going to any school before finishing his college career at Sonoma State University, a secondary school north of San Francisco. He still had two years to show off his football skills, which earned him a spot in the East-West Shrine competition and the Senior Bowl. In 1994, he was selected by the Dallas Cowboys in the second round of that year’s NFL draft. Allen played 12 seasons with the Cowboys and won a Super Bowl ring with the team after beating the Pittsburgh Steelers 27-17 in Super Bowl XXX. He only spent his final two seasons with the San Francisco 49ers before resigning as the Cowboys by re-signing a one-day deal with the Dallas Cowboys. Overall, he’s made 11 Pro Bowls, or in other words, he’s made more Pro Bowls than any other Dallas Cowboys offensive player in franchise history. At 6-foot-3 and 325 pounds, Larry Allen is also considered one of the strongest players in the NFL. On February 2, 2013, he was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
